Willing Partners is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Galax, Virginia, that aims to combat hunger and support children in crisis. The organization operates a food bank and thrift store, both of which provide much-needed resources to the community. Through these programs, Willing Partners aims to make every purchase affordable and impactful while also connecting with community organizations and grocery stores to fight food insecurity for hungry individuals and families.

At Willing Partners, our mission is to combat hunger, support children in crisis, and make every purchase affordable and impactful. Donated goods sold through our thrift store support our food bank, which ensures that every purchase is a catalyst for positive change. Our programs are grounded in faith, and we partner with community organizations to provide essential resources for children facing crisis situations.
Our Programs
Willing Partners operates several programs to achieve its mission, including:
Food Bank
The Willing Partners Food Bank provides free boxes of food to individuals and families in need. The foodbank distributes a variety of boxes, including fresh produce, breads, canned andboxed goods, and often desserts. Most distributions are on Wednesdays, with exception distribution on the first Saturday of each month for those who work. Registration is required, and boxes can be picked up in the rear of the building.
Thrift Store
Our Thrift Store offers greatly reduced and affordable goods, including clean, gently used clothing; sporting goods; kids toys and clothes; and household goods, furniture, appliances, electronics, and books. Donations are welcome and can include items such as clothing, furniture, and electronics. The Thrift Store provides an opportunity for residents to recycle and reuse items while supporting the community.
Fresh Start Program
In 2022, Willing Partners launched the Fresh Start Program, a six-week program designed to help individuals and families break the cycle of poverty. The program offers one-on-one case management, financial education, and employment assistance. As a result, 100% of graduates were able to move forward to self-sufficiency.
