After cryosurgery, the skin may appear red, swollen, blistery, and you may notice fluid or blood accumulating in the treated area. It's important to avoid breaking blisters, as they can be painful and take several weeks to heel.
For the first 2-3days after the procedure, you may apply Vaseline or Aquaphor on the affected areas to keep the skin moist and prevent crust formation. You can also cover it with a bandage or sterile dressing, changing it every day until the crust falls off. If the crust appears too sticky, you can remove it with a petroleum jelly (Vaseline) until the crust falls off.
After the crust falls off, typically around day 7 to 10, you will see new skin beginning to appear. Healing takes about 2-4 weeks in total, although the skin may appear slightly pink or red during the healing process.
If you notice any complications or concerns during your recovery, such as fever, increased pain, or excessive bleeding, seek medical attention promptly. Your doctor may prescribe antibiotics orother treatments to help promote healing and reduce Scarring.
Remember to follow all post-cryosurgery instructions carefully.
