DIMETAPP (bromfeniramine maleate, dextromethorphan HBr, phenylephrine HCl syrup) is a medication used to treat various symptoms related to colds and allergies in children. This syrup is formulated with three active ingredients: bromfeniramine maleate, dextromethorphan HBr, and phenylephrine HCl.
DISTRIBUTION: dimetapp syrup is distributed by McNeil PP LLC, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, in the United States and throughout North America.
INDICATIONS: dimetapp syrup is indicated for the treatment of:
- Cough associated with upper respiratory infections, such as the common cold.
- Runny nose and nasal congestion.
- Itchy eyes and skin caused by allergies to allergens like pollen, pets, dust, and mold.
- Sinus congestion with or without thickened sinus membranes.
DOSAGE: the recommended dosage of dimetapp syrup for children aged 2 to 11 years is 10 mL (2 tablespoons) every 4 hours, not to exceed 6 doses in 24 hours. For children younger than 2 years, the product is not recommended due to safety concerns.
