Fire Safety Activities and Crafts
While I admit that October is my favorite to teach thematically, fire safety week sneaked up on me this year. Fire Truck Anchor Chart
To kick off the week, we label the fire truck and explain how to construct sentences, using the words we have learned from our word wall. Once all the parts have been labeled, we group students and have them label each part of the fire truck with sentences. Lastly, take a moment to discuss the "Lips the Fish" reading strategy, getting the kids ready for the last word in the sentence. After the sentences are read, we add them to the fire truck anchor chart.
