5e life transference

5e Life Transference**

Life Transference is a spell that appears in the 5th edition of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, specifically in the book Xanathar's Guide to Everything. The spell is a level 3 necromancy spell that allows a character to sacrifice some of their own health to mend the injuries of another creature within range. The character takes 4d8 necrotic damage, which cannot be reduced in any way, and the healing dealt to the target creature is equal to twice the necrotic damage taken.

Description

Life Transference functions similarly to a reverse-vampire's touch, where the character donates some of their health to restore a creature's hit points. This ability is incredibly powerful, allowing for instant healing on a target of the caster's choice. However, it is a risky spell due to the substantial damage it causes to the caster. At higher levels, the damage increase, making it even more potent.

Components

To cast Life Transference, a character must have a verbal (V) and somatic (S) component. It requires direct physical contact with the target creature. The components are gathered using the character's own resources, rather than any magical items or external aid.

Duration

The duration of Life Transference isInstantaneous, meaning it happens as soon as the casting is completed.

Range

The range of Life Transference is 30 feet.

Target

The target of Life Transference can be any creature within range, chosen by the casting character.

Healing

One creature within range regains a number of hit points equal to twice the necrotic damage dealt. For example, if a 5th-level wizard casts Life Transference and deals 20 necrotic damage to themselves, the creature they heal receives 40 hit points of healing. This healing effect can be doubled if the wizard is a level 5 or higher and has a 3rd-level spell slot available.

Higher Levels

When a spell slot of 4th level or higher is used to cast Life Transference, the damage dealt to the character increases by 1d8 for each spell slot level above 3rd. For example, a 6th-level wizard would deal 3d8 necrotic damage, and a 7th-level wizard would deal 4d8 necrotic damage.

Restrictions

生命转移可以对自身造成伤害,但是无法被减少或抵挡;它不会抵抗或减少来自不死生物或魔法物品的攻击;在对抗具有抵抗不死生物或魔法物品效果的生物时无效。

###Life Transference is a powerful necromancy spell that allows a character to make a significant impact on their allies. However, it is a risky spell that requires careful strategy and planning. A well-timed Life Transference spell can turn the tide of combat, but the potential for self-harm makes it a carefully considered choice.
