Protein Pizza
Protein pizza is a healthy and delicious way to satisfy your cravings for pizza without compromising on nutrition. With a generous amount of protein per serving and the ability to make it in under 30 minutes, it's the perfect meal solution for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- Flour: Self-rising flour or all-purpose flour with added baking powder and salt
- Greek Yogurt: High-protein option, use non-fat version for dairy-free
- Protein Powder: Unflavored protein powder can be used as a substitute for some of the flour
- Pizza Sauce: Commercial or homemade
- Mozzarella Cheese: Shredded or grated
- Pepperoni or other toppings: Cooked ground meat or turkey, vegetables, cheese, etc.
- Olive Oil: Brush on the crust before baking
- Seasonings: Salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, mix together flour, yogurt, salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Alternatively, combine flour with baking powder and salt to make self-rising flour. Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
- Roll dough out on parchment paper or floured surface to desired thickness.
- Add pizza sauce to center of crust, leaving rim for crust. Then add toppings and cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, slice, and enjoy.
Note: For a crisper crust, brush olive oil or non-stick cooking spray on baked crust before topping.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer until heated through.
