Sibo is commonly caused by ileitis, which is inflammation of the ileum, the final part of the small intestine. This condition can be caused by a variety of factors, including:

  2. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): Both Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, the two main types of IBD, can cause ileitis and subsequently Sibo.
  3. Helicobacter pylori Infection: Although H. pylori usually affects the stomach rather than the ileum, it can sometimes spread to the ileum and cause ileitis and Sibo.
  4. Enteric Fevers: fever can cause the body to produce more mucus, which can contribute to the growth of bad bacteria in the ileum and Sibo.
  5. Diet: Certain diets, such as a high-fiber diet or a diet high in fermentable oligosaccharides (FODMAPs), can lead to Sibo by altering the composition of the gut microbiota.
