For example, male activists who identify as victims of misandry may describe themselves as having been "PIVted" or targeted, meaning they have received the desired "penis in vagina"-type intervention that their movements advocate.
In recent years, the term PIV has become increasingly popular within the male-led Men's Rights Movement (MRM), which often criticizes what they perceive as an overly sensitive and delicate view of women's bodies and experiences within the sexual domain. MRAs have claimed that women are often harmed or subjected to negative emotions due to PIV-related injuries or the lack of foresight in male sexual practices, arguments that have been met with criticism for relying on inflammatory and often inaccurate rhetoric.
However, it is important to note that while PIV is widely accepted within the mainstream male-dominated sexual culture, there remain significant disparities and differences in perspectives on its meaning and purpose.
